Metabolomics and Systems Biology Group (MSB)

About MSB

The Metabolomics and Systems Biology (MSB) group is led by Sakda Khoomrung. The MSB is a member of Siriraj Center of Research Excellence (SiCORE-MSB). The lab aims to develop advanced tools in metabolomics and systems biology to achieve a comprehensive understanding of cellular metabolism and diseases. Our research interest combines wet chemistry with state-of-the-art mass spectrometry and the development of novel bioinformatic tools to perform quantitative biology.

Our research activities fall into four categories

The development of technologies for metabolomics research such as LC-MS, IM-MS, GC-MS, imaging-MS, and bioinformatic tools such as deep learning, machine learning, and MS databases.

Systems biology of natural products.

The host-microbe interaction studies

Precision medicine, which includes chronic kidney disease, cancer, skin disease, and other illnesses.

The MSB group is part of Siriraj Metabolomics and Phenomics Center (SiMPC) and the Department of Biochemistry , Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital , Mahidol University .
